Content IPs + SM Takeover
Content
We took Zandu's Instagram from a large but passive account and started building it into something far rarer: an owned distribution channel. Engagement rate up about 4x, completely organic. No paid shortcut, no vanity spike. Not a bigger audience for its own sake, but an owned one, built around information people actually want, in a category that has never had a proper home on Indian social.
The Situation
Zandu is one of Emami Ltd's flagship wellness names, a brand with real heritage and instant recognition. The audience reflected that: A large, established following already sitting on the account. The activity did not. Posting was sporadic, the content was not built to earn interaction, and the numbers showed it. Engagement rate sat near 0.17%. Plenty of size, very little signal. A big room where nobody was talking back.
The Diagnosis
The problem was never the brand or the audience. It was that the account was being run for size, not for engagement, and the real opportunity underneath it was going unbuilt. Ayurveda is one of the most searched, most trusted wellness categories in India, and there is no prominent, genuinely good Ayurvedic information page on Instagram. Just noise, fragments and anonymous reposts, nothing people follow the way they follow a good fitness or food creator.
A brand with a century of credibility was the obvious one to fill that seat. It just needed a channel built for it. Fix the cadence, build the content around what makes people stop and respond, and the audience was already there waiting to be activated.
What We Did
We built a real content engine. A reliable monthly cadence replaced the sporadic posting, scaling to as many as 4 to 6 reels and 10 posts in a single month, so the brand showed up consistently instead of in bursts.
Then we rebalanced the mix toward reels and formats that earn saves, shares and comments, not just passive views. Every piece was built to make a person who was reached actually interact, because we treated engagement rate as the metric that mattered, not raw impressions. And we built all of it organically, because an audience you own is worth more than reach you rent. We were not inflating a number, we were building a channel the brand keeps.
The Result
Engagement rate up about 4x from that 0.17% starting point, completely organic, holding steady even as organic reach across the platform got harder to earn. More important than the number is what it represents: an owned distribution channel taking shape, and an audience that belongs to the brand rather than the algorithm.
And this is still a work in progress. The engagement growth is the early proof, not the finish line. The bigger goal is to make this the go-to channel for everything Ayurveda in India: the page people actually turn to when they want Ayurvedic information they can trust. That channel doesn't exist yet in India. We're building it.
The point was never to make a big account look bigger. It was to make it matter, and to build the brand something it owns long after any campaign ends.
